Problems with pigeons nesting on your balcony? We can help you get bird free.

Pigeons are a nuisance all over Berkshire and especially in Reading and Wokingham as they are used to being around humans, when a balcony is unused even for a short period of time these feathered fiends will move in and start nesting. Pigeons are not fussy nest builders; they're chosen design seems to be more poo than twigs and so these are quick to build, within days, egg's will be laid and your balcony has now been quietly taken over by the birds.
Pigeons chicks, known as squabs, will stay in the nest until all the flight feathers are formed; these aren't strictly chicks anymore but young adult birds, this is the pigeons’ defence mechanism and what it means is that a single breeding, quickly become four birds. When these two young adults leave the nest, more egg's will be laid to replace them straight away.

Guano, nesting material, dead birds, and empty eggs all over the balcony.

You now have a small, resident flock of pigeons all living on your outdoor space; within weeks the guano has built up to become a thick mass of nutrient rich matter. This mass is teeming with fungus, bacteria and viruses all of which are harmful to us: your balcony has now become a full-blown biohazard. In additional to the micro-organisms the mass of pigeon faeces will be host to a variety of insects some of which are classed as pests in their own right.

What can you do to help us with our pigeon problem?
We provide a service for domestic customers with problems of birds roosting and nesting on their balconies and around the buildings. In the case of pigeon control at blocks of flats we look to install a clear net built to the balconies' shape; this prevents any birds from physically flying into the area. The installation of the net keeps the birds out and then we concentrate on your balcony.
We clean up all the residue left by the birds so: guano, old nests and nesting material and any dead birds lying around, once this detritus is cleared away we use a powerful biocide to kill off any lingering bacteria or viruses. All the surfaces are scrubbed, wet vacuumed and sprayed with biocide to kill off any remaining bacteria or viruses.
If you have wooden decking as a base to your balcony and this has become damaged or rotten, we can remove that and replace it with fresh boards and remove all the waste.

Could we just leave the mess, after all it will wash away in time?

The guano left by the birds is a thick dense mass and it won't wash away with rain water; it’s also highly acidic and while its sat on your balcony it is eating away at the structure beneath - this is why we can replace the decking boards as they are a common form of finish on most balconies.
The guano may also start to grow a fungus which is particularly nasty, and you wouldn't want that growing just outside the doorway to you flat.
The best course of action is to prevent the birds from flying onto the balcony and removing all the mess - we don't harm the birds in any way with this treatment.
Bird proofing and a balcony clean in Kennet Island, Reading
"Thoroughly professional service from both Tony and Liam - used the form on the website to explain the detail of my pigeon guano issue and had a phone call back from Liam the next business day to arrange a visit to get a quote. Kept informed throughout the whole process of the cost, when it would be done, how long it would take etc etc. Job was completed on a Saturday morning (netting for the balcony and guano removal) thoroughly professionally and they were cleaned up and finished before lunchtime. Would recommend their services to anyone with any sort of pest problem. Would give more than 5 stars if Google allowed it :)
